Ford 390 rear main seal

Will the new style, 2-piece rear main seal work on an older FE 390 block that came with a rope- type rear main seal?

Good question, would love to know the answer myself - I suspect the config is the same, because I've heard of people having to remove the pin that keeps the rope from spinning so they can put a newer-style seal in

Ditto, just remove the rope seal's pin when upgrading to the 2pc neoprene seal.
