Radiator

I took the radiator to a shop to get it flushed and checked for leaks. They siad it needed to be recored. The cost was over $ 400.00. That's not in my budget. Finding a replacement for a 1958 F100 has not been easy. Are there any cheaper (and easier to find) alteratives?

My personal feeling is that you will not find one much cheaper than that.

If you buy a non-specific one, it may be less expensive, but could cost you extra by way of having to fabricate mounts, different hoses, etc.

As far as finding a used one, I would want to have any used one I purchased gone through, so add that to the price of the cheaper used part.

Four hundred bucks is really not muh money to spend for a part that, once finished, you can forget about for the next ten years or so, assuming you regularly service your cooling system.

I used a radiator from champion radiator. It's made for a 1956 f 100 truck. only difference a little bit narrower. Easy fix with minor brackets. truck never runs above thermostat opening of 180 degrees. 2 row aluminum radiator with choice of right or left lower outlet. I paid 175.00 I see they have them on sale now for $159.00!!! Google champion radiator
