Plow Questions

okay i have been doing extensive research on the idea. i have a 99 ford f150 xlt ecsb with the 4.6 in it. i have a chance to get a western 8ft plow for a great price. im a lil sceptical about jumping on it. has anyone ever heard of an f150 having such a large plow on it? i dont want to completely destroy my truck but would love to make some extra cash this winter doing a little plowing.

If you decide to go with it, plan on replacing most of the front suspension parts after a winter or two plowing.

Going to have to do quite a bit of plowing to make up the cost if you can't replace the parts yourself.

I have 24/7 access to my cousins shop with a lift next door to me and I plan on putting heavier springs up front or airbags to try to negate the weight of the plow

Here is my 2003 F150 with an 8' SnowDogg plow on it

I just put it on the other day so I havent plowed with it yet. Its got 150xxx miles on it and it already needed some front end work so I plan on doing some in the spring. It picks it up well. My biggest worry is the battery, when using the plow, it draws a lot of power. No airbags or timberins or anything like that. It holds it well, i dont plan on doing anything other than maybe cranking the torsion bars a little

I dont know how heavy it is, I have never weighed it or really researched it. I knew it was going on the truck so I didnt really look into it. I did a tranny flush but like I said, I havent actually plowed with it so we will see how she does.
