PSP in a gas burner?

Say Fellas,

Has anyone tried using Power Service Products Diesel Fuel Supplement (#1025-12) in their gasoline engines as a fuel treatment additive?

After reading their claims, it seems like it would act like Sta-bil, clean the gasoline lines/system, lube the carb/injectors, etc. .....and it would be less expensive (per ounce) than say LUCAS Upper Cylinder Lubricant / Fuel Treatment.

Diesel Fuel Supplement® +Cetane Boost®-32oz Bottle 1025-12

Why not Seafoam? Or Sta-Bil? PS is designed for the high pressure and often complex diesel injectors and pumps. Gassers have a simple fuel pump and low pressure injectors that need to be kept clean so a simple solvent would do. Diesels need clean and extra lubrication. I have heard of old timers running a gallon or two diesel per tank of gas and vice versa, though I'd be a little weary of puting gas in a diesel.

Adam, thanks for your response!

I understand that Seafoam or Sta-Bil is made for gas and is a well-known additive. I have run a diesel and I used PSP in it and I think the PSP improved its performance. So, it seems to me since PSP seems to do a good job of cleaning high pressure diesel injectors, it will also clean a carb system or low pressure gasoline injectors too.

Do you think PSP would help keep a gas-powered vehicles running clean - or - could it hurt them?

Thanks! - BarnieTrk

As far as I know, and someone may correct me on this; gassers require more in the way of cleaning varnish and carbon out of their systems which would require more of a solvent action like seafoam. Unless Dieselkleen has an adequate solvent to do this I really see no real world benefit since it is more of a lubricant. I guess one could try it. In that concentration I don't think it would hurt. If you do try it, let us know how it works for you!

try archoil. it has made both my diesel and my gassers run better. It also claims to be a combustion enhancer. my bike was badly in need of a carb clean and tuneup. would barely start at 40oF added archoil and fired up real nice. filled up tank without additive and 30 seconds later it was running sickly again.

Thanks for your opinions, Fellas!

I have a couple jugs of the PSP, but I don't know if I'll dump some in my wife's taurus or my ole' 390....

Archoil....Hmmm,,, I never heard of that.
