Sure is a good read, seems to be a good motor.

Ive always liked fords smaller v-8's in the pickup trucks. Guys always say they are under powered, but Ive always found they met my personal needs perfectly.

So far I really like the pep on my 5.0, after afew more miles I can twist it`s tail a little.

The 0-60 mph and 1/4 mile times are quite good for the F 150 with the 5 liter Coyote V8. The rwd dyno figures tell the tale....very strong numbers and combine the power with a 6 speed and 3.73's....in the test power never seemed to be an issue...even when towing the trailer...think it was 14,000 lbs ...combined weight.

I think you made the right decision...getting the V8....nothing beats...the beat of a V8, IMO.

My 1996 Explorer has a 302 & an AODE trans, great setup.......

I noticed that too but I highly doubt Gerry would ever do that.
I always wanted a V8 Explorer but I think that they are fairly rare.

Yeah many guys want those 302's from the explorer. They seem like a hot ticket item.
