Hello Comrades,I was playing with my scan gauge and got worried can you guy interpet my reading Please Thank you.
VLT=12.3 lo=13.5 hi=13.9
FVP=12.0 lo=13.0 hi=13.5/14.0
FLP=12.5 lo=13.0/13.5 hi=13.5 for the most /14.0
batt=12 start 10./11. lo=13 hi =13 for the most/14. /14.1
I did notice a lot of vlt,fvp,flp jump around at 1950 and 1500 rpms this is what they where at 1950 rpm
fmp=43/45.5 fmp at 1500 rpm 48.5
I never had my gauge set to these because we were fixing other issuses thanks again guys .
yes your are right , those first ones are the second are at operating between 1,950rpm , I had set the gauge to those and seen the changes when driving , I hit the alta mont pass this morning and back no load fmp43/45.5 down in the flats same rpm 48/48.5 that plus the other readings got me thinking NO WORRIED.
Thanks fal 308, do you think the alt volts look ok seems like Ive been reading alot about the alts going out its the same alt sence 04 ,but batts are 1 yr old,if I do replace seems that benny likes the DC thats what will go back in
I did not know that the FICM could drop going uphill.
A better way to put it would be to say " under a load ", and the easiest way to work the truck is to drive up a steep grade. Mine was showing 48 to 46 V in the drive way and after learning how to use a scangage 2 I noticed every time I climbed a grade it would drop to the 30's. One time it sank to the high twenty's. It got so I wouldn't watch the speedometer but watch the scangage and Back off it to keep the volts high. By the time I got to the top I was doing 45,50 MPH. Ed fixed it and now shows 48.5, 49 v all day long. Best mod so far.

Ok, I took my truck to the local Ac delco shop just to check myself and the scangauge mostly,what we found was that the ALT is going out,charging at 11.6 and lo Idiol was 12.1 even thou it went up to 14./14.1 at the most too low . the unit is 110 amp from stock , now back to the ficm It never made it to 48.0 , 38/35.some cases 33 mostly 46.5, SOOOO, what goes first? Batteries are up to full charge according to the techs machine and the scan gauge .
Fal-308, your not going to belive me, but does the scan >=,./? with me bat helt 14 alt 13.5/13.8 ficm 48/46= 33/35/48 all around the map, holy crap and really? Our weather is not much diff from yers over the other side of the hills now. tomarrow will be as benny noted clean batt posts, Ed will be called for the ficm per your as noted . and both will be replaced. now 110/115 amp alt that ford put in I dont have big stereo, campers, just horse trailer and some dump/car trailers.is the DC190 amp really nessary, and put the $ into the FICM? not forgetting the Batteries?Thanks for your help guys.
