Not sure it would be illegal at all..

The only problem would be if it was a bright light that could distract oncoming drivers..

That is no different than any LED light In my opinion

I am not sure..

I did look on the RMV website and found this about undercarriage neon..

May I use neon undercarriage lights?
No, Neon (fluorescent) lights are illegal and are not approved for use in Massachusetts. Any aftermarket lighting that is not SAE or DOT approved shall be removed.
I would say that if the lights are DOT or SAE approved they won't say anything..

To be safe I wouldn't put anything on the truck to attract attention until you are over 18 at least..LOL

Don't want to lose your license after waiting so long to get it.. Especially over something minor

It's true that you're not supposed to add lights to your vehicle if it didn't come stock (or some trim of the same model) with lights. You'd have to run afoul of someone with a real hard on to get a ticket, if noticed at all.

Wanna be extra careful? Stay away from blue. Turns some heads.

Sorry for the late response; been away for awhile.

Trust me....don't give the cops any reason to pull you over. Neon lights under your truck attracts a lot of attention. At a minimum put a switch on it, and turn it off when you leave the school parking lot.
