I am not sure..
I did look on the RMV website and found this about undercarriage neon..
I would say that if the lights are DOT or SAE approved they won't say anything..
To be safe I wouldn't put anything on the truck to attract attention until you are over 18 at least..LOL
Don't want to lose your license after waiting so long to get it.. Especially over something minor

No, Neon (fluorescent) lights are illegal and are not approved for use in Massachusetts. Any aftermarket lighting that is not SAE or DOT approved shall be removed.

It's true that you're not supposed to add lights to your vehicle if it didn't come stock (or some trim of the same model) with lights. You'd have to run afoul of someone with a real hard on to get a ticket, if noticed at all.
Wanna be extra careful? Stay away from blue. Turns some heads.
