05 E-350 Gasoline Wil Not Start

I have an 05 E350 Super Duty that recently developed a misfire/communication issue on coil pack f. I tested it with an obd scanner plugging it in or not and received the same code. It was due for a set of new plugs, so I replaced them as well as the coil pack. Started and ran the engine in the driveway for a half an hour and received no miss and no coil code. I assumed it was fixed.. Drove it down the road to test it and about a half mile the engine just quit and all gauges dropped. Only tried cranking the engine a few times and the battery died quickly. The engine will not restart. The obd will not communicate with the ECM. Any one might have a clue your response is very much appreciated.

Thanks
Jerry

I heard there's a fuse for either the OBD or ECM circuit that blows in these vans so check the fuses.

Ok, I will tomorrow morning. I have to locate the right one(ones) via the repair manual. The fuse block isn't labeled. Thanks for the reply.. I have never had an issue before this one, ran everyday.

Also noticed a slight exhaust manifold leak sound that wasn't present before. The symptoms are similar to the 05/06 escape issues with wrong plug install at factory causing the coil packs to go and pcm/ecu to fail. I used autolite plugs instead of motorcraft and a coil from autozone not ford oem. I didn't see an issue using different plugs and coils.

I checked the wire harness and found an area that was melted on the exhaust return on the drivers side. The factory placed heat resistant rapping around the pipe and a metal tape shield around the wire harness. The harness was in the correct location from the factory. It is just a bad spot to place the wiring. It would have caught fire and came close to doing so. As soon as I find a way to post pictures I will so others can see the issue and prevent it.

More detailed pix of the location of this melted wiring please. Deff will check my van after you post to see if mine is like that. Still haven't done my plugs... And the misfire is getting worse. But still no return of the dreaded check engine light.

Location of the harness issue..

If you look at the engine there is a manifold component wrapped with fiberglass insulation. The harness that comes from the ecm lays against that. it is close to the valve cover.

I have checked all the fuses and they are good. I have a few that reed low or negative voltage(smaller fuses) like the horn relay switch. I replaced the ecm (No Change) and patched the wiring to the best of my ability's. I found a 30 amp fuse blown in the cabin and replaced it and now the check gauges prompt went out. There are a few low voltage (meaning not 12 v) .5 volts on the fuse box in the cabin. The distribution box receives 12v so i assume the fuses do get power. I also replaced the battery because this ordeal fried it. Any ideas where to go from here would be appreciated.
