I own a 2011 and it has a 35 gal tank....I ordered a new 2013 identical to the 2011...can anyone tell me if the 2013 comes standard with 35 gal tank? Just freaking out because my dealer is closed and I just talked to someone that said the 2013 may only have 27 ish gal tank
On my 2011 F350 long bed (172" WB), it said 50 miles to empty. I'm guessing about 3 gallons remained. I pumped in 21 gallons of fuel and got 1/8 below full. Did I get jipped in the fuel tank department.

Last weekend I got down to 19 miles until empty. I could only fill it with 31.5 gallons of diesel. I believe ford is keeping 1 or 2 gallons in reserve. But I have not tested that theory. Nor do I plan on testing it.

It sounds like you didn't fill your tank all the way if the gauge was reading 1/8 less than full. At only 7/8 full you probably could have fit another 5 gallons plus the 3-4 gal or so left in the "50 miles to empty". That still doesn't equal over 30 gal so I'm guessing there is an issue with the low level that your truck is reading in the tank. Generally speaking it seems like 0 miles to empty still leaves maybe 2 gallons in the tank.
The 2011 is much better than the 2006 was when it comes to how full the tank is when the pump clicks off. The 06 would take another 5 gallons and the 11 doesn't seem to take anymore than 1.5 gallons. I can't speak for the 26 gal tank because I haven't dealt with any of them.
