And my favorite; because it's exactly how I wish my turbo air "behaved":

I bet you could clean out a lot of stuff!!!!
I had no idea it would run so nice, I was expecting smokey laggy mess!
The truck just seems to make more power without all the boost and back pressure - and sounds like a truck, not an 8800lb vaccuum!

I had no idea either.

What would be the benefit of a single VGT?
No I haven't seen one yet.
I guess it shouldn't be too hard to do if you wanted though.
Maybe a VGT unit off a newer maxxforce 7?
I don't know how the tunes would run it, maybe you'd need custom tuning or stand alone VVT controller from fleece.

I was talking with the tech installing my egr cooler delete today about going to a single. Mainly to get the lower egts so i can holder to the floor longer. He told me that cummins and duramax guys spend thousands of dollars converting to twins so he didnt understand why i would want to go the other way. He recomended upgrading to 6.0 manifolds, going to a better intake manifold, changing compressors in the stock turbos and other thngs to get the egts down.. idk.

Well the duals are powerful, and man can they make some huge power down low ...
However, they don't have a wastegate, and they can create massive back pressure.
You can buy upgraded duals for around 2000$.
The single turbo sounds awesome, and don't make insane drive pressures.
Also you eliminate the possibility of VVT failure.
I suppose it boils down to what you want out of your truck
It wouldn't surprise me at all if fuel economy also jumped up with the single.
