i have 1960 panel with the 223 I-6, does anyone know if there is a automatic trans that will bolt up? Would like to keep the I-6, because several ppl in the family wants to drive the old panel, but have no idea how to drive a 3-on-the-tree...lol, plus i like the I-6. Wanted to check before i put a 302 with a C-4.
MODERNIZE YOUR 50
Too much $$ for my blood. I may consider it if I was doing a car, but a truck?
Too much weight and wind resistance = Go Slow Joe Blow

With all the mods you will need to do to put a 302/C4 into the 60 it's not going to be cheap either in the long run

$110 + shipping for the motor mounts. You'll also need a trans xmember and a way to keep the trans cool. IMO the time to upgrade the radiator is while the engine is out. So get one with a trans cooler built in. If you plan on towing anything I'd get an aftermarket trans cooler, but everyday driving? Nope, don't need one
i plan on driving mine plenty, its not going to be a trailer or garage queen. Im going to put a larger radiator with trans lines, plus aftermarket cooler on the trans and oil..i usually go way overboard with that kind of stuff and it takes me way too long but i feel did it right the 1st and i wont have to go back and do it again
