bmuhlbach Thanks, I started it when I was 15, it started off all it needed was a paint job, and the next thing I know, it's in a million pieces. My senior year a friend and I started working on the body work. Long story short, he got a girlfriend (aka time consuming), graduation came and gone, and we slowly started going our own direction.
Hopefully it'll be back in one piece like this, just shiny
I have a pair of those long bed running board steps and I think they are NOS! I remember they are perfect. for sale or trade send me a PM if interested
Looks to be in pretty good shape. Step sides used to be popular, then faded over the years but I do like your High Rider, we used to have an indestructible 1977 at work.
Thanks, I try to take pride in my trucks. I'll admit that an 8ft stepside is... Well.... Less than attractive, but it tends to grow on ya when it's sitting in the garage. Haha I'm going to try for the simple 'farm truck' look with this truck, run a nice oak board or two above the bedsides (maybe with our farm name engraved in them).
I got a text today saying the jams, roof, and interior are getting painted Monday. These are exciting times indeed
Bigwin- thanks, but the ones that were on the truck were surprisingly in decent shape. It's still tempting though because I can only imagine how hard it is to come aross the long bed steps

I love the look of the long bed stepside. Hows $150 for the pair hit ya? they are probably worth $500 but I have had them for almost 20 years now and its time for someone else to store them or use them!
They're NOS you say (or darn near close?)? Let me sleep on it for a bit. Picking them up wouldn't be a problem, my uncle lives in Copley, and I go across I76 weekly on my way to college.
I actually think they were painted and never put on as they are yellow and have the red oxide primer on the underneath. They also have the mounting brackets/braces. They really are perfect. I'll send you a pm with my cell#
I put a step side bed on my 78 F250 4X4 I think it looked great with the bigger tires 33's only thing I did was a 3 inch body lift on the cab and left the bed stock. It looked alot better in the opionion. What color you going I like red or dark green on them.
Yeah, I made it so far into the project that I decided I wasn't going to start half a**ing things (but still try to keep things in budget...somewhat ). The only thing I didn't do was pull the cab and everything in it.
