1.6L Eco Boost Escape/Fusion RECALL
Ford has announced a recall on all 1.6L Eco Boost Escapes and Fusions due to an overheating problem that could cause fluid leaks that may result in fires. They are offering to tow all affected vehicles...and...provide alternate transportation for those affected owners. Dealers are not allowed to demo affected vehicles that they have on their lots.

my dealers owner himself called me at 0900 saterday morning telling me he had a midnight conferance call from ford telling them of the fast track recall, said i'm sending a rental on a tow truck to get yours. don't drive it at all. something about a leaking fuild running down on to the exhaust and starting a fire.
dame ford! this is number 3 for the 1.6 liter motor. first the fuel rail line, then a coolant plug leaking onto the exhaust, both causeing fires. maybe they should stop making that motor in england and change it to either the usa or canada useing one of the closed engine factorys.

DEARBORN (AP) – Ford is expanding an investigation of engine fires to Europe. The company has had seven reports of fires in 1.6-liter EcoBoost engines sold in Europe.
The engines power Focus and Mondeo sedans and Galaxy minivans.
Last week Ford recalled more than 89,000 new Escape SUVs and Fusion sedans in North America because the 1.6-liter engine can overheat and catch fire.
Ford hasn’t recalled any vehicles in Europe.
The company has not yet determined the cause of the engine fires."
hope ford understands the wording of LEMONS!! *edited by moderator...no legal discussion*

I had nothing but problems trying to get the ford dealer I bought my escape from to come and get my escape when the first recall about the fuel fire. Wont come and get it because Im too far away from them so I have to drive it to them There is a dealer closer to me but they are not a good or trust worthy dealership. Where I live it is nothing to drive 65 miles just for food or banking or anything. Now I got to go thru this a third time. Im going to look into the lemon law. I was going to buy a new ford truck for Christmas but no more fords. I quit them when the 6.0 came out.

As for them picking it up, you may want to talk to the regional Ford office about towing.
And once again, can we please edit the title of this thread? There are other Escapes on the road than the 2013.
