Looking at a 2008 F-250 King Ranch

Hello-

I am looking at an 08" King Ranch F-250. A dealer near me has it for a pretty decent price. Only thing is, it has 120k on it. The leather looks great and everything checks out super clean. My only concern is the mileage. I currently have a 96 PSD. (Not selling it or trading it) I am just wondering should I proceed or look for something with less miles? Any feed back is great. Thanks!

You have to follow your gut...I would not buy a truck without a warranty...unless you're a gambler...look around for the right truck that makes you feel comfortable. Something you can buy a Ford EsP warranty on...if price is a factor, maybe a XLT. I looked for almost a year before I found he right truck at the right price..

Maybe they will give you a warranty? Any pics or a link to the truck so we can see it?

Looks good. Has the redesigned degas bottle so it has has some work done on the cooling system.

Not a bad thing.

Tail pipes are black though...so it either has a tuner or a bad DPF. Tailpipes should be clean to maybe a little grayish.

Certainly worth looking at it and driving it.

It is at a toyota dealer. So you want them to take it to ford and have the dpf checked and see if it has the latest flash.

I'm going today to drive it. They said I could take two blocks down to the Ford dealer to have them look at it.

Thanks for the advice. I will let you know later today.

Cracked DPF is what I suspect..look at how the pipes should look if this is a stock truck

Senix covered my concerns.

On a cosmetic note, seats and steering wheel can be professionally reconditioned and re-colored. I'd consider asking the dealer to have it done. They'll look brand new.

Looking at the truck now. No smoke, no loud noises. Going to take it to Ford and have them look at it. What's the price to replace the DPF? (Roughly)

I gave it some hell. HA! Seems to have plenty of power and no lag. No white smoke or anything. Anything else to check?

shine a flashlight all over the motor. Look for white splatter. It would show a cooolant leak

29k seems like a bit much. I paid 30k for my F350 lariat CC, LB with 62k, lifted tires etc..Then purchased a ESP premium warranty ( 3k )

Offer them 25k and see where they come back at
Good luck
