I had a couple people in the bed of my new F150 SCrew with the 5.5 ft. bed and it sounded like the metal was cracking as they walked around in the bed. Is that normal? It didn't sound good.
Dude, I've got more unexplained sounds from the back of my 2012 than you can shake a stick at. Clunks, bumps, scraping, and stuff shifting in the bed (but with nothing in the bed). All these sounds come around at parking lot speeds.
was there any snow/ice along the window part of the box? i had some build up there and it sounded like kids tapping on the windows with their nails all the way down the highway!
Did you go through sand as of late? Maybe kick up some rocks into some strategic points in the sheet metal? It'll give you those extra noises if you have rocks in the right places. I drive on the beach time to time and I've noticed it as well, but a good pressure washing between the frame and bed gets rid of just about all the noises + the nasty PNW weather we get up here (lots of rain).
Nope, no ice or sand recently. It's sounds just like the metal is cracking as they walked across the bed. Didn't sound good, but maybe it's normal since the truck is new and there has not been any weight in the bed previous to then?
