2012 Discounts

2012 Discounts
Im currently trying to decide my next move, and would like some opinions.
I'm looking to buy a Gas Super Cab Short Bed 4x4 Lariat F-250
Ive found two that are exactly what I want. Both are out of state, Im in AZ and there is one in California and the other in Texas. Ive been looking at these two trucks for about 2 months now and have been just waiting for the right price, however, the prices seem to be getting higher rather than lower. THIS HAS ME STUMPED!!!!
the trucks sticker at $46,000 back in September, the trucks had $4,000 in rebates and incentives from Ford. Now the rebates and incentives have went down to only $2000.
The best price I could get from the dealers was $500 OVER invoice....
Now, Call me crazy but if I wouldnt buy the truck at $500 over invoice plus $4,000 in rebates....How do they expect me to be interested in buying the truck at the same $500 over invoice and only $2,000 in rebates????
I have gotten quotes from local dealers that will order me exactly what I want in a 2013 model and will Sell the truck at INVOICE.
Im really interested to see what happens, price wise, to these 2012 trucks, though. Call me crazy, but I just want to see what will play out. The same trucks that I was looking at 3 months ago, are STILL there. None of them have sold, Im guessing because they are gas and not a crew cab(not a very popular configuration). I just dont see these trucks selling. I mean if they didnt sell when rebates were at $4,000 and there werent any 2013s sitting on the lot, what makes them think they are going to sell now that the rebates are lower, and the 2013s are starting to hit the lots?

I see your point but like I said, I first called on the truck over 3 months ago, they have two identical trucks at this particular dealer in Texas, and guess what....... they still have both trucks.
after we weren't able to come to a deal back in early October, I quit contacting them and they have been reaching out to me every couple of weeks to try and get me to make a deal. Im guessing there is very little to no interest on these trucks so Im just really curious to see how this is all going to play out...
