4.56 Ford 8.8 gear install hiccup.

Hey guy putting 4.56 gears in a 8.8. I'm going away from the 9" which has a bent housing and is busting bearings to a Ford 8.8 I had for a spare. I have the 4.56 gears installed on the carrier, and bought a knotched x-pin. But I still can't get the x-pin in the carrier. HELP!!

Do I have to grind the x-pin more? or grind part of the ring gear tooth off?
