Last Standard Transmissions????

I would like to trade my "08 Ranger Ex Cab for a Crew cab to haul my Grandson's around with me. This is my second Ranger and I think I'd like to have a bigger truck now, but I'm a manual Transmission guy who really likes the control you have with the clutch. I have test drove new trucks with auto's and it's just not me.How far back do I need to look to find a standard in a F-250 or even a F-150? I don't need a diesel for pulling so I prefer gas. Thanks, Bob

2010 for the super duty platform. I think you could get a manual in the F 150 up to 03.

I did not check the F150s, but in the SuperDutys it appears 2010 was the last year.

I went here - Hiller Ford - Ford Vehicle Research and looked at brochures from 2011 and 2010 for the Superdutys.

Near the back of each brochure is a section on towing capacity (which varies with transmission and rear end gear). They listed specs for manual xmissions in 2010, but not in 2011.

If you want to check on the F150s, pull the brochures and see what they say.

Good luck in your truck search!

You could get a manual transmission in the '05-'08 F150s as well, but I believe it only came with the 4.2L V6 engine that wasn't available for 2004. Manual transmissions aren't common in the half tons, but they can be found if that's what you like.

They are more common in the Super Duty trucks though, but not by a large margin. Anything up until 2010 was available with a standard transmission, and starting in 2011 the automatic was the only available option.

Yeah - someone else on FTE turned me on to that. I keep it bookmarked.
