Excalibur Remote Start Install on 2007 F-250 King Ranch

My wife ordered an Excalibur RS-130-DP for me as an early Christmas present. It should be here the middle of the week. I have downloaded the instruction manual but still have a few questions.

1. I bought my truck used, it only came with one chipped key and remote. Do I need a second chipped key to program the bypass?

2. I am pretty good at installing aftermarket accessories. How long should the install / programming take?

3. For those who have one of these systems, how do you like it? What has been your experiences installing/using it?

Thanks in advance

They make a digital bypass that eliminates the need for a
"chipped" key hidden under the dash in the remote starter's
transponder ring.

Unless we download the manual and read it, not much help
on installation procedures.

Typical MECP installers can knock this out in 45 minutes to an hour.
If this is your first install expect a much longer time.

I have installed many remote starters and alarm systems from 1997 to 2002.
The turbo timer is the best feature IMO.

Got the remote start put in yesterday. It took me about 3 hours. I did not need the bypass as my KR doesn't have the PATS crap in it. Works like a champ.

hey 07_King,
I have an 05 KR that I installed an aftermarket alrm/starter into and was wondering how yours is set up. I have 1 factory fob and when I lock/Unlock with it the dome lights turn on and off but with the aftermarket that doesn't happen, Were you able to retain this feature and if so how? also, Did you have a door keypad you tried to retain, if so how'd that work out? door trigger set to Dome light supervision? or did you manage to tie into the door pins for a more accurate trigger?

I only have one factory key FOB as well. The keypad on the truck still works the same as it left the factory. My dome lights/running board lights work the same as well. To use my remote start I press the lock button three times. It will turn on the lights and then primes the fuel system for 20 seconds before it starts. I'm not sure about your question about retaining the factory functions. It didn't effect any of them when I installed the kit.

oh, so you are using the factory fob. When I did mine the factory fob basically got shelfed into my spare key cabinet and I use the aftermarket fob, but when I lock the truck the dome/step lights stay on untill they time out and when I unlock no lights come on until I open the door. With the alarm/starter I have installed if I try to use the factory fob to unlock the truck the alarm will go off untill it times out or I lock the factory fob (or else the cycle repeats) and then disarm the alarm. Is that excalibur thing a factory setup or is it more like a compustar/viper system? I'm using a Compustar alarm/starter system.

By the way, Nice truck in the pic. Thats basically what Mine looks like just Stock exterior, no toolbox, and dually.
