It is an evolution of the Turbo-Hydramatic 400, first produced in October, 1963. 4L80-Es have been optioned only in Chevrolet/GMC pickups, vans, and commercial vehicles, and the Hummer H1.
The 4L80 and 4L85 are built at Willow Run Transmission in Ypsilanti, Michigan.

Thanks Sean, there were days I wanted to just throw in the towel just because of the little things. They add up and take so much time and a lot of people do not realize that.
