Aftermarket hood question

I'm looking at the cervinis ram air hood, and the lift off version is 300$ cheaper, my question is could I bolt it onto the factory brackets and it work like the factory hood?

No, it will not have mounting for the hinges nor a receiver for the latch. It will require that you lift it on and off and use hood pins. Not so bad if you want to save some weight.

My only thing is that a lift off would be annoying because I get under the hood alot.. But I could be wrong it could be easier than I think

The person to ask is Sidewinder4.9. I believe he had a lift off hood for awhile but took it off and cut the scoops off of it due to it flying off on the highway. Maybe he will see this and leave his thoughts for you.

I bought the Cervini's Ram Air hood....$250 for the hood, $100 for the S & H....

*******s kept fugging around with my hoodpins, and caused the flying off issue the first time...

Second time was my own fault (Got in a hurry/Lost track of thoughts)

Costed me a good 30 hrs of work to fix the hood back together...And about $75 in products...

Here's how the hood sits now...

Just that portion alone made my OEM hood HEAVY...Barely touch it, and it'll fall shut...

I'm waiting on good weather to finish up fiberglassing the fiberglass portion to the OEM hood...

Gonna trim a hole in the OEM hood to make it all functional again..

Hope this has helped...
