55 F-100 and Gearhead column

I purchased a Gearhead steering column with no ignition switch or column shift.

I am having major issues trying to get the turn signals, brake lights, etc to work properly. There does not seem to be an internal ground wire from the column on this unit and a friend thinks that the issues I am having is due to a lack of ground on the column. Trying to wire according to the GM wiring diagram for the column.

Has anyone else had such issues and where did you ground the column, ie drill a small hole for a ground screw in the column, etc?

Thanks,

Eh, let me see if I can find the little diagram I made when dad and i wired my '56. List the colors you have coming out of your column, so i can make sure its like mine. I have a tilt/column shift. If I can't find it, I'll just go back and probe my wires for ya if need be.

I can't remember what wire color it is but if the column came wired for GM wireing it has a ground, I just did an Ididit with a GM harness and I know that one wire was a column ground.

Should have 2. One will be the ground for the horn too.

Thanks guys. I had the diagram for the wiring. Unfortunately, the wires coming out of the column did not include a ground. So I ran a chassis ground to the the drop down bracket and the column tube (sandwiched between the two) and all is working
