trouble filling up
I am having trouble filling my 2005 F-250 Super Duty. It has a 5.4 gas engine. I have checked the fill vent and cannot fing anything wrong. I read somehwere on here that there is a cannister that is attatched to the vent line above the rear axle. This cannister can be cleaned with compressed air? Has anyone heard of this?

Is not very much info on what the problem is. You need to give more
details. Is it spitting gas all over the place or not filling all the way or
the nozzle won't go in. The canister question gives me ideas but doing that is
assuming things and you that does ****u*me
So please post more info on what is going on

You may want to check out this thread that I started when I could not figure out what that component was - https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...the-spare.html
In that thread there are pictures I took of the vapor canister, including where it is located.
There is also a link to another thread and a TSB about the problems with the canisters on the 2005s.
I will not ***-U-ME this is your problem, but you might be interested anyhow.

More Info.
My truck is a 2005 F-250 SD with a 5.4 V8 with auto. trans. When I try to put gas in the tank, the nozzle keeps clicking off like the tank is full. There is no gas in the tank when this happens, because I have run it out of gas numerous times. I should also mention that the gage does not work. However the truck run like a scalded ape, I just can't get it to take gas at the filling station. It spits gas back on occasions, but not all the time. Any information would be appreciated.

Sounds like a plugged vent line. You will have to look under the truck
where the fill line goes into the tank. You should see two lines going to the
filler neck and the smaller one should be the vent. If it has a kink in it that
can be a problem. The lager one is the fill line and it could also have a kink.
As to the level problem it can be anything from a bad sender or as simple
as an open furs or a broken wire. Do you have any access to a scan tool?
You can check to see if you have codes for the fuel level system and als
look at live data for the level sender. After that it down to checking things
with a DMM (Digital Multi Meter). There should be some info on what the
meter readings should be if you check the level sender with the meter.
Look in the Tech Folder.
