ignition/tach issue?

Randomly when my wife starts the truck, the truck seems to have a hard turning over.. then when it starts, the tachometer needle jiggles at the zero mark for a few seconds, then fully engages. She says she can momentarily hear a rapid clicking sound from the instrument cluster when this "jiggling" occurs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds a lot like a bad connection
- battery cable
- ground
- other wiring

I'm leaning towards the battery because you say it has a hard time starting -- I'm taking that to mean that it turns over slowly.

That's all I've got. There are a lot of guys around here who know more, but you'll probably do better if you tell us :
1. year and model
2. engine
3. Exact details about 'hard time starting'

welcome to fte,

hj

Thanks for the response. We really appreciate your feedback. Great site. I'll look into the battery/cables/ground.
