hello out there thanks for stopping in and giving me your input..i have a 2003 mountaineer v-6 awd drives pretty good but od light is always flashing even if ignition switch is open and truck not started..and check transmission on message display also..the only thing that i feel its really tight on turns as if it wants to lock up but once steerring gets straight it runs fine...im hopeing some one has some info to share that can help me with this issue...maybe a fuse relay or sensor...please help and thanks too all that can help..i know that a regular scanner cant pull codes i gots to go to transmission shop but chances are there gonna tell me its trans time....

code P0796 Pressure Control Soleniod C Performance or Stuck Off

 

When you pulled the codes, did you reset them? If so, did the blinking OD light go out?

 

If only the one code is present, I would invest in replacement of the solenoid, or solenoid module, as the case may be.

i guess im gonna try the soleniod pack..i have been shopping and looks to run abt 250 new..now to study up on how to empty her out and refill process and to see how quarts im gonna use..i also read that the new soleniod has to soaked in trans fluid????thanks for the help and info guys..any pointers are appreciated

 

A little more work, not much more $$$, but consider installing a shift kit and save the rest of the tranny.. Philip
