folks from the south please chime in on pie!
Happy bird Day! I have a question about Pumpkin and pecan pie. I was telling my wife that people had to be crazy to have pecan pie over pumpkin pie(her relatives) She said that pumpkin pie is a Northern thing, being her parents are from the south, she says that most people there would rather have pecan pie. I say No way. I told her I would put it to a vote on my truck forum lol. It's got to be pumpkin. To me, Thanksgiving without pumpkin pie is like having a glass of ice water without the glass

I'm from NJ, my wife is from SC. I like pumpkin pie, she does not. She goes for the pecan.
We had an early thanksgiving lunch at the assisted-living home my mother lives at. They offered both pumpkin and pecan pie for dessert. You could pretty much tell by the dessert choice where the folks came from.

i was born, raised, and spent almost all of my life in joisey, except for living in North Carolina for 4 years.
and i will take pecan over pumpkin any day if only offered one choice. and if there is a choice between sweet potato or pumpkin, it is sweet potato over pumpkin
but when it comes to the dessert table on turkey day, my plate has equal size slices of pecan, sweet potato, french apple, and pineapple upside down cake on it, with 2 or 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream covering it all.

Considering that I was born in Tennessee, I am truly Southern, even though I now live in "Merlun".
Pie??? Pie??? Yes, please!
Pecan pie kicks Pumpkin Pie all over the floor, however, I won't push Pumpkin Pie aside.
I will, however, turn my nose to all of it, for a BIG slice of APPLE PIE or ShooFly Pie!!!!
Wow!!!! My mouth's watering at the thought of apple pie!!!!

There are only two types of pie I like.
Hot, and cold.
Our turkey day tradition is to have apple, pumpkin and Derby (a chocolate pie with pecans and bourbon in it!) pies. My family has always made a sweet, light, whipped-cream type of pumpkin pie. Dang it, now I'm hungry. And there's no pie in sight.

Pass me another slice of Pizza - all the rest is overkill
And you know what? A good ol' brew would slide down just fine with it...
"SWEETS"...
I expect I still have most of my teeth because I avoid that

Tell ya what - send me a redheaded Jersey Girl, and I'll forgive you!
