2000 Explorer proper wheel size

The PO installed wheels from a 2002-2010 Explorer.

These have the incorrect off set and the PO used wheel adapters which

I do not care for.

I would like to buy wheels with the proper off set for this generation

Explorer. I do want to keep the tires that are on the truck now, but

Sell/ditch the wheels and adapters.

That is the proper offset and bolt pattern for the 2000 Explorer?

Tires are currently 245/65r17

without going and looking at mine since its freezing out i believe they are 235/75/15 (don't quote me as i only look just before buying to get same size, but those numbers come right to mind). there should be a sticker on the side of the drivers door from ford with that information on it

according to ford, the specs on my rims are 15''x7'' - 5 holes - 4.50'' bolt circle

Ford also used 16x7 wheels for that year.

To keep the 245-65 x 17s, you will have to find a wheel with the correct offset. Tire Rack shows a 2001 Eddie Bauer 4x4 to have 17s, so there might be a stock wheel out there with your name on it. Trouble is, many Exploders that hit the scappy have been rolled, which pretty much finishes off the wheels.

There is a place here that has tons of pull off wheels, I'll stop by there

Tomorrow to see if they have some 17s with about 3-3/4 back spacing

With little off set. It would be great if I can find the Eddie 17s.

I told my wife about buying new 15s and tires with a minimum 1000.00

Price tag, she didn't seem to thrilled about that news.

I have a good set of 15x7s sitting behind the garage.

Like so:

Probably cost more than they are worth to ship them.....

Scrappy wanted $100 for one of these:

Needed one after the $100 set of 5 (4 aluminum, 1 steel spare) I bought off a guy parting out a wreck turned out to have a wobbler in the mix. Note: rolling them down the driveway is not a reliable way to check for straightness.......
