carter 1bbl feedback carb adjustments
does anyone know how to check the accelerator pump on the 1bbl carter feedback. im getting hesitation at light throttle and after the truck warms up when i ease off in traffic then ease back on. maybe not the problem. also does anyone know what year f150 i can find a carb that doesnt have the EGR. thanks

The accelerator pump is easily checked. Wait till the engine is cool, and take the aircleaner off. You may need a piece of wire to tie the choke open. With the engine off of course, climb up into the engine bay or whatever you need to do to be able to look down the carb throat. Bring a flashlight with you.
While looking down the carb throat, move the throttle open. You should see a stream of gas pour down into the engine. It should be pretty strong, and should start with just a slight movement of the throttle. If you can move the throttle any at all, and not get the stream, or get a dribble instead, then the pump needs to be looked at.
