Hi, I have a 2000 Excursion 7.3 and having problems right now because my Door Chime and Dome light dont work when the doors are open. But for some odd reason, when the rear door is open, the dome lights work. The 4 doors doesnt work yet the rear door does

The reason i want this is because i want to install an alarm and the door signal is needed and it is suppose to be tapped at the dome/chime so when the door is opened, the alarm will sound so it is not just relying on the Shock sensor.

Sounds like you have 4 door switches that are bad...
or at least one was bad and the prior owner cut
the wire(s) to prevent the lights from being on
all the time? Since lights work when hatch
Is open

 

It just weirded me out that 4 doors dont work yet the rear door does.

lots of troubles with reverse problem where
Lights are on but doors are closed. And the door open
dash symbol is on when doors closed..

 

After looking at the wires if they were corroded or cut, I took the door panels out and just grabbed every wire i could find and lead me to the ends. Behold, ALL 4 CONNECTIONS from the doors are unplugged from the door sensor. The previous owner either forgot about it or just took it out on purpose. While I was there, I saw that he upgraded the power door locks to an aftermarket one. He left the old power locks there and added another power lock motor. Atlast, I could sleep happily now that nothing is bugging me anymore!
