I brought my F150 in for service because it was stalling. It was otherwise running fine. The "mechanic" put in a new distributor. Now the the truck runs real bad. The "mechanic" says it also may need a new carb to explain why it now runs so poorly. However, things were otherwise fine before he touched it. I think he scwewed up the timing by mixing up the spark plug wire order. However I do not know what the correct wire and plug sequence is. Does anyone have a diagram or instruction so I can check this?
"V6"???? Those were EXTREMELY rare in F-series trucks. Do you mean I6 (inline/straight) 300ci/4.9L? The firing order for almost all engines of all makes is cast into the intake manifold, but it's much easier to find it in the Haynes manual or maybe here.
Have you reset your computer? After I tuned up my truck I pulled the battery cable for about ten minutes to reset my comp. Then drove it for about 15 minutes... It runs fine now...
