The recruiter I have been seeing has been great to work with on my weight. But of course I did seek him out, so that may be a difference.

I'm outside machinist at the local naval yard and I love it. I'm only 20 so this gives me plenty of time to work up a good pension.

Well uhh... about that. When I first started talking to him I was 245 lbs, I had already lost 50 lbs, the requirement is to be below 206lbs. I currently sit at 209 lbs. So, yeah he has been great to work with despite my weight. As far as as the ASVAB went, when I first talked to him I had a score that was several years out of date, so even that wasn't a guarantee that I was a worthwhile candidate for him.

Well finally some good news! I finished my third trip to MEPS this afternoon, and I signed my Delayed Enlistment Contract with the Navy today. I will be shipping out in Nov. I got a Logistics Specialist position, which is what I wanted to do in the Navy, and I will be going in as an E3

Currently I am a sales accosiate stocking the shelves at the local dollar general. Not the best or biggest paying job but right now it is paying to fix the truck and puts gas in the tank plus still have a little to save which is all I care.

You make more than what I did working at a full blown CNC machine shop for over 6 months, and that's setups/runs to basically figuring out why it wouldn't do this or that right. You done it right my man. I'm just a part timer now as a maintenance man for a local cave and I'm loving my Job and the people I work with as well as the commute.

I'm also a OEF/OIF veteran who still works in military aviation.
