Unhappy Need spindle nut socket for 1989 4WD F-250

I'm having a hard time locating a tool to get front hub assembly off 1989 4WD F-250. Has manual locking hubs... Even Ford does not stock it... Need a spindle nut socket. Any suggestions? I've checked O'Reilly's, AutoZone, Sears, Ford... I live in the Los Angeles area. Thanks

That's odd, I walked into my local AZ and they had both kinds of f250 spindle nut sockets in the tool isle. Can you order it through them? I would just do that.

Some guys have been known to cut one out of hard plastic pipe.
Good luck.

I recently had the same problem - here's the thread: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...uestion-2.html

Bottom line is that some auto parts stores aren't carrying it any more, but any that carry Lisle Tools should be able to get the one I used.

You also have to remember that there are two different tools available depending on which front axle your F-250 has. If it has a Dana 44 HD you need the smaller one but if it has a Dana 50 you need the larger Dana 50/Dana 60 one.

I bought mine at NAPA. You need to measure the nut the best you can and maybe take a picture of it and have them look it up in the catalog. There is a bunch of different sockets for these front ends...

Take the locking hubs out and measure the nut. I just went through this problem and bought a KD Tools spindle nut socket kit that had the "small" socket (around 1-15/16" diameter for the pins) which was the wrong one for my application. The one I needed was
this one. this one.
This one has a diameter of around 2-3/8" for the pins.

Edit: Both of the ones I'm referring to have 4 pins in the nut.

Why don't you just make one? It sure would save you the hassle of searching for it. We usually take a socket and cut it so it has "pins" sticking out to grab onto the nut and spin it out.
