I just purchased a 2012 F-350 and was wondering if anyone has removed the rear under seat cargo box? Is it needed for the integrity of the rear seat? I liked the way my old 05' F-250 rear seats folded out to make it flat for storing larger objects. Is there an add on option for that?

I removed my storage box before I signed the papers on my new 11 f250 back in oct of 2010. The rear seat rests on metal platforms, not the cargo box. My dog really enjoys the flat floor. Remove about six bolts and the wiring harness for the power outlet and its out very easily.

Congrats on the new truck and welcome to FTE.
I put something in my under-seat cargo box a couple years ago...... I don't recall what it was....... oh well, maybe I'll go look. Naw, it's too cold out. I don't use my storage very much. Don't know why not. Seemed like a good idea at the time.
I have a complete change of clothes, towels, rags, spare windshield wiper blades, zip ties, a cargo net, 7 way round plug to a 5 blade adapter, toilet paper, disinfectant wipes, and a set of jumper cables. I won't use the jumper cables unless its absolutely neccessary.

That's what the thing was intended for.
I just don't seem to utilize the space like I should. I forget it's there. Most of the stuff on your list, plus a tow rope, a hydraulic bottle jack, extra ratchet straps and bungies, are what I keep in the bed of the truck in a Rubbermaid Tote. I oughta try getting better organized.
I wish they would have made it as a two piece unit where you could remove the passenger side part and keep the drivers side part. The reason I'd like this is because I'd like to mount an amplifier under the passenger side seat and still have the ability to store things.

If the amp will fit inside do like I did, drill four 1" holes around the amp, add two 2" 12v cooling fans for exhaust, and it will be nice and safe in there.

My amp and line out converter are both in the pass. side storage bin with a 2" hole in the back of it for wires. I have no fans or vents and haven't run into any issues so far (but it doesn't get scorching hot here anyways). Bonus that it locks.
