Your local Ford dealer will sell replacement rocker panels. One of our site sponsors, Tousley Ford, sells OEM ford parts for cheap.

I tried searching but didn't find an answer. Does anyone know the thickness of the sheet metal used on the doors for a 2001 F-250 SD?
I'm going to need to weld or braze in some patches on the doors of mine where somebody did a less than stellar job fixing some rust holes.
Need to buy a sheet of steel from the steel yard, but since the holes are all covered with bondo or whatever, I can't get in with a caliper to measure the thickness to know what to order.
Does anyone know? Thanks in advance.

Normally it's around 20 gauge sheet metal. If you want to it this way get good sheet metal and be sure to coat the panel you make with weldable primer over the entire surface (both side) and epoxy primer in the center on the back leaving about 1/2" of weldable on the edges. The idea is to try too prevent future problems in that area. You get the panels ready to go from LMC Truck or ABS Auto Body Specialties cut what you need and save the rest.
