1992 f 350 engine mount, swapping 351 to 6.9

my problemis the drivers engine mount, that big hole for the oil filter from the gas engine is where the engine mount for the 6.9 should be. I dont want to swap the front cross member. can that hole be filled over with a steel plate and welded in place? All the rest of the conversion is completed. tranny, wiring, fuel lines and tanks.

I don't see why not, but if I recall, the hole is dimpled, so it should be pretty strong without plating it.

yeah, i cut of the drivers mount just above the rivets,, to keep the strenght of the crossmember and the diesel mount rested above it when I installed the motor, im going to weld the mount to the frame, the bottom holes on the diesel mount didnt line up with the original gas crossmember,

I too am doing the same conversion (351 to 7.3 IDI). Got the diesel engine mount plates from an 88 F-250 and have the same issue with the hole for the oil filter. I was going to remove the driver side gas frame mount so that the diesel plate could be placed on the cross member, but according to what you have stated above you just cut above the rivets and removed the portion of the gas frame mount and then used the diesel plate. Did you weld the plate to the cross member? Did you weld a plate in the hole for additional strength? Please share how you resolved this issue, given that I am facing the same issue as you did. Many thanks in advance.
