and no telling me go buy a car. i need a truck and im absolutely in love with mine even though shes a fat selfish petrol chugging B

exhaust, shift before 2k rpms. Not bad for fullsize. I get 14.5-16 reg with my f150 reg cab sb 4x4. That f250 has more weight and heavier components to turn. make sure air filter and fuel filter are good and clean. pump your tires up too. Try running 91 octane. I seem to get better mileage when I use it.

i tried 91 the other day got 13.91 on that tank but its not enough to offset the 40 cents per gallon difference. only reason i tried 91 is there was a brief shortage of regular from sandy so they were selling super at regular prices. i may make a grille block because ive heard that can help. im also going to try folding my mirrors in. ive got tose big 5x8 chrome towing mirrors. i found a guy on an ecomodder sight that supposedly hits 21mpg with the same exact truck i have. im waiting to hear back from him on how he does it.

They also have some suggestions on that website about removing mudflaps, etc.. not sure how it would work but you could do a few things and try it out for a tank. A tonneau cover may help as well.

My 4x2 4.9 w/ M5OD and 2.73 gears gets around 18MPG but I feel like it should do better. It's threads like this that make me think I've got something wrong to only be getting 18.... FORDSIX PERFORMANCE • View topic - Coast-to-Coast: Mega-MPG
FORDSIX PERFORMANCE • View topic - Bumper mod, spare relocate, etc., = 4mpg bump

But I have to admit that I take some of his "data" skeptically. As you'll see in the second thread, I challenged him on his numbers and he's yet to confirm they held up.

You may even try doing the six liter tune up with the upgraded coil and wires.
