Thanks all for your reponces! I will print all the attatchments and provide them to the shop. The Emisions sticker is weak proof, it say's nothing about cat's. I'll try giving them the exhaust parts list Monday and let you all know how it went

Then again, is this all the proof that there is available proving a 76 F250 has no cats? I cannot believe it. I have to prove to a dealership that they are wrong, that their information is incorrect. Overwhelming proof is required to prove their state provided "book" information is wrong.

No problem, I can go to another inspection facility and they would probably pass it. This is just a "man" thing to prove them wrong at this point.

For the purists: It is a 76 F250 4x4. The single exhaust and 360 were replaced with dual exhaust and a 390. The 390 is mildly built .060 over with a Competition Cams RV type cam\lifters\springs\timing chain with Eldelbrok intake\carb\valve covers and Headman Elite headers. I have no stock emision stickers to help me out. The inspectors see the aluminum intake and carb and just assume I removed all "emissions" equipment. As we know, there wasnt crap for emissions for this truck.

Sorry for the rant.

Thanks to all!

GREAT NEWS. I found the information from ALLDATA REPAIR. I just looked up the 76 Trucks. It has two catagories: GVW 6000lbs or less and GVW 6001lbs and over. 6001 lbs and over F250's never had cats, even California trucks. It also lists al the emissions for a particular model truck. That can be an issue for me.

The only problem is, when I hand it (this paper) over as proof, it lists the EGR valve and Thermostaic air cleaner were instaled. GRR. I can probably find an air cleaner that will work, but not he EGR set up I would need. I have a Eldelbrock Performer intake and carb.

Did ford make one of those spacer plates with an EGR mounted to it that mounts between the intake and carb in a 4 barel version? I know they did for a two barrel setup. Can ya help out here Number Dummy?

If so, anyone have one they will part with for a price? The EGR doesnt have to work, just look pretty for the annual inspection.

Thanks for all your help!

I love the idea, but I believe the 2bbl spacer is too small for my intake\carb. Mine has a 4bbl. If it would fit, your darn skippy I'd bore the entire center out of that puppy to make it "work".

I was referring to the 4bbl spacer actually, like a Mr. Gasket one roughed up to look old. Cut off the EGR part of the 2bb one and TIG it on.

And I know for sure the 2bbl one would be to small.

Now that I think about it.....I might have a Holley 4bbl spacer with a pipe sticking out of it, if I do, it's yours.

1974/76 F250/350's with 390's were available with an optional 4V ~ VIN engine code: M
Factory installed EGR/carb spacer plates were aluminum, hot exhaust gasses caused them to melt internally, also tended to get clogged with carbon.

Two different spacer plates, two different types of EGR valves.

I've got at least one of the 4 bbl carb spacer things with the EGR on the back of it. I'm like 90% sure there's at least one I didn't scrap out. I'll be out at my other house this weekend and I will check. If I have it its yours if you cover shipping.

I had 3 or 4 but I have done a lot of cleaning and I'm sure at least a couple of them made their way onto a load of scrap while straightening up the basement.

Ok I looked for about an hour and finally found the stupid thing, laying in a trailer full of stuff waiting to be taken in to the scrap yard. This is what I have, is this what you need?

He's not a very knowledgable inspector. Only those trucks under a certain GVWR required cats and they had "Unleaded Fuel Only" on the fuel gage and a restrictor in the filler which your 76 F250 does not have because it's GVWR is over the limit. My '77 F150 is over that GVWR limit for '77 and it does not use unleaded or cats.

As a retired Master Trooper (after 31 years) I can tell you that every now and then some inspector got into inspection without knowing his stuff. Tell that inspector to call his supervising trooper or to give you the number .... or just call your VSP Division HQ and ask for the Safety Office. Politely explain and ask to meet that trooper at that inspection station.

Yours did however once have a EGR valve and thermal air cleaner deal.
