Thank you Javi2001

Just wanted to thank you, Javi2001, for taking up the slack in sending out the E4OD files in my absence. I had to change ISP's, and email addresses, but forgot to inform FTE regarding the change. Again, thank you Javi2001 for helping others realize having an E4OD is not a death sentence LOL

Hello dieselzen,
I know you have been busy sending out the zip files on rebuilding the E4OD, and I hate to bother you, but I could really use the info on the files. The transmission went out on my Flareside and I need to rebuild it. Could you please email me the zip files.
Thanks,
Shiny62

I sent you the file, titled 'E4ODfiles.zip' attached to an email on Sept. 20th.
If you need me to send the file again, send me an email. R.A.

Recent rebuilt and still problems

Dieselzen,

Hey you are doing a good job keep it up.

If you or anyone can help it would be nuch appreciated. Just removed the tranny and had it rebuilt. Puttin it back in we thought a few things were goofy. The piece going into tranny was turn 180 degrees, so I took it off and placed it where I thought it was suppose to go? Don't think that is an issue. I am now experiencing a grinding noise when I start to coast. Although I reved the engine in nuetral then let it come back to idle. Then tried to shift into reverse and I got the sam grinding noise. It almost seems like it is the transfer case trying to do something? Are there any adjustments I should try. Sorry ro long just trying give all the info. and this is the first time removed a tranny. Any chance you seend the zip?

Thanx,

supergbp:

Tell me about the torque converter- did you slide it in and hear a pop but not pull it back to far to the fly wheel?

Have you looked at your U joints?

When did you last check you differential-

oil level in the trasfer case - are your hubs locked?

Just a few things to check - what are the details you said seemed goofy - what part do you speak of ? Fairly easy trans to pull - and install compared to a front wheel drive

good luck

I did not do anything with the torque converter. Was I suppose to? Looked at the u-joints, only replaced the one at differential. Have not checked the differential. I have not checked the transfer case level. Hubs are not locked. I will check all these and let you know.

The thing that seemed goofy was the lever that was mounted 180 degrees out of position. The plastic piece was broke so it needed to be repalced. So I thought the lever was 180 degrees out of position. This the shifting lever.

Dieselzen, thanks for the zip file, good info to have. Wish I had it sooner, old solenoid reinstalled by tranny shop. Several of the replace conditions existed ie., heat, high milage, hardparts replacement, etc... Will just run her until I can get back to shop which did give 12k and 12mo warranty.
