U Bolt Nuts?

Ordering the last of the parts for my V/modded B swap along with 30mm rear sway bar and front/rear end links etc. Do the U bolt nuts need to be replaced along with the U bolts? Mine are not rusted. Re-using the eyelet bolts, they look good.
Thanks!
Steve

IIRC the U bolts and nuts are TTY and re-use is not recommended. Thats what the parts guy told me when I got my U bolts for my X code swap this weekend.

X2..They are rather cheap, I would replace them.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought. I think they run about $1.99 at Tousley.

Hate to be a noob, but what are these "swaps" you're talking about?

Short answer... They are V code front springs and modified B code rear springs. Stock springs are too soft and these keep the front off the bump stops and help the rear. Most notably for the notorious Excursion wander problem and to add some capacity to the rear. Adds a couple inches of height also. Lots of reading HERE.

I ordered new spring hanger bolts and nuts for the front but I plan on re-using the shackle bolts/nuts. The spring hanger bolts are W704660-S426 (comes with 2 bolts) and the nuts are N807659-S441 ( 2 nuts per pack as well) I am not sure if they are the same on the shackle bolts but I just re-used them.

I bought springs, u-bolts and nuts for mine. Re-used all other bolts/nuts in the shackles and frame.

Yeah, all my hardware looks good, was a TX truck so no rust/corrosion. Think I'll just go with the U bolts/nuts.
Thanks!

I would re-use all that stuff, don't waste your money. It's not like it rotted out or transformed itself......lol.

Maybe it turned into aluminum when you weren't looking.......lol.
