It's Here It's Here! My New Project!
Arrived on the tow truck before lunch. The previous owner bought it and never even started on it so he couldn't tell me much about previous work.
1977 F250 4x4
460 (not sure where it came from or what is inside but it runs like a champ and sucks gas like one too)
C6 (not sure if it even works)
First Tasks:
1. Do something about my work area. Need to build a work bench.
2. I have a lot of tools and just went and got a new compressor but I budgeted $1000 for tools so need to get a sprayer and some nick nacks.
3. Figure out what is wrong with the drivetrain. Doesn't kick into gear.
4. Rear main seal is leaking so I need to fix that.
5. Find a tailgate
6. Fix the hood latches
7. Put the exhaust back where it belongs so I don't die of carbon monoxide poisoning... and add new flowmaster in the process.
8. Sand, rusto, and spray in bed liner for the bed.
9. Gut interior and install new stuff.
10. body work & paint.
11. Put on 37" Military Tires
After this initial resto I'd like to rip it down to the frame and paint everything up and add new suspension but I've only got $3000 left for this project so that might have to wait.

Fixed this wonderful piece of ingenuity this morning. Looks like someone patched a transmission cooling line with a hose that was way too big. I replaced it with fuel line hose and 4 fuel clamps until I can track down a new line. No more transmission leak. Just waiting on my rear main seal to get in and valve cover gaskets and that should take care of the last of the leaks. Please don't ever use oil stop leak! fix the problem!

Had the flu this week so didn't get a ton done. I started grinding on the tailgate I got. it may end up being a test project for my new welder. I did however finish my new work bench so my shop is almost ready for the restoration. Oh and I found a cool radio that I ordered.

As far as the trans cooler line goes, just go to the auto parts store and get a 6' length of 5/16" steel line. Bend it how you need it and call it a day.
Don't burn through all your money on neat little nic-naks. Take the time to go through the truck and make a list of stuff you HAVE to have. There's nothing worse than having a neat radio but can't get it inspected because you don't have the money left over for cats.

The truck didn't come stock with cats so I found out I don't need them. I took it to get emissions the other day and it barely failed Co2 so it really just needs a carb adjustment because its running a little rich. Mechanically other than that the thing runs perfect. I spent several hours this week combing the truck for issues. I probably spent 2 hours under it just staring at the bottom of the truck. I had $700 budgeted for emissions but due to this I splurged a little on the radio
Things I did find: Power steering pump leaks. Shoulder strap drivers seatbelt doesn't work. Blinkers don't work. Seals on doors leak. Someone put a brand new HUGE fuel pump right under my butt and its annoyingly loud. Any ideas on moving this would be helpful.
