frozen spark plugs

I have a 3.0 Duratec in a 03 Sable with 114 K miles.I just got the car and I went to check on how the plugs were by pulling one of the front ones,it was frozen and I could not get it out.I didn't want to use to much force because of the alum. heads,the engine was cold.How can I get the plugs out?Can I run the engine and get it warm?
