my truck fixed its own light bulb

Shortly after buying my truck, the bulb behind the PRND321 on the dash went out by the P and R. Its been dark by those 2 letters for almost a year and a half now. Today, I got in the truck and magically they were lit up again. Just curious if anyone has an explanation for this

Basically what Mike said. A light bulb filiment breaks that cause the light quit working. I've seen several times where the element will touch the other half and start working. Had one that blinked for a little while until the element went all the way out. Enjoy it while it lasts. I've seen them last a day or two or until you hit the next bump in the road.

Did you name your truck "Christine"? Is the odometer rolling backwards?

x2
Back in the "old days" when a head-light burned out, you could
smack it with your hand and that would shake the filament halves into
welding themselves back together - you did this with the lights "on".

It would usually last quite a while and repeat numerous times.
It also works on the incandescent home light bulbs too...
