91 F250 fuel pump in 88 F150

Ok so recently I got 2 tanks for my 88 F150 4x4 with good fuel pumps. I have been needing new fuel pumps and tanks for my 88 for a while now. I got the parts for free so I don't care if the pumps work or not. I know that the tanks fit. The donor truck is a 91 F250 2wd 351 super cab. My truck is a 1988 Ford F150 4x4 302. I noticed the fuel pumps are diffrent but will it still work with my 88 F150? The hook up to the fuel lines and electrical ok but somebody told me that they won't work.

Your '88 has a complicated mess of a fuel system with a switching valve and high pressure pump on the frame and low pressure pumps in the tanks, Ford changed this in '90 to eliminate all that and leave just high pressure pumps in the tanks. So you got a choice to make, you could simplify your fuel system and get rid of all the frame parts but that means you'll have to run new fuel lines, or swap out the intank pumps for low pressure versions and connect it normally.

ok thanks I am gonna see which is a cheaper route and then which is better really. I mean I want this truck to last a long time. The junk yard near me always gives me parts cheap I just need to know what is best and then what to get.
