Why Is My Truck Misfiring At 40-60mph?

I've recently purchased a 96 F-150 4.9L standard shift. I got a code telling me I have low voltage on the secondary O2 sensor. I have checked and cleaned the connections and it did not do any good. It misses between 40-60mph and will clear out and run fine. Can anybody point ne in the right direction? The last Ford truck I owned was in 83'.

List the error code number and when it was displayed, i.e. during the Key On Engine Off (KOEO) tests, Continuous Memory (CM) display or the Key On Engine Running (KOER) tests. The code definitions can have different definitions depending on when they were displayed.

It is highly suggested to run the KOEO/CM tests and repair any failed items there before moving on to the KOER tests.

P0151 OBD-II Trouble Code

Technical Description

Oxygen O2 Sensor Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 2, Sensor 1)
What does that mean?

Essentially the same as P0136 and P0137 and P0131, a P0151 code refers to the first oxygen sensor on Bank 2 . P0151 means the O2 oxygen sensor's voltage remained low for longer than 2 minutes. This, is interpreted by the ECM as a low voltage condition and sets the MIL. Bank 2 Sensor 1 is located in front of the catalytic converter.
Symptoms

There may be no visible symptoms to the driver, other than the MIL (Check Engine / Service Engine Soon) illumination.
Causes

A code P0151 may mean that one or more of the following has happened:
  • Faulty o2 oxygen sensor
  • Short to voltage on O2 signal circuit
  • High resistance or open on O2 signal circuit
Possible Solutions

  • Replace faulty sensor
  • Repair short, open, or high resistance on o2 signal circuit
I would highly suggest you check for any stored codes as well.
