GVWR for 1965 F100

I have to do a Vin Verification for DMV on my 1965 F100. My truck doesn't have the plate on the driver's door and I need to know the GVWR. How do I locate it? Can anyone help me? It is a 6 cylinder, short bed if that info helps.

thanks!

Since the Warranty Plate is missing, there's no way to know what the GVW or MODEL code is.

IMO, this truck does not have a 5,000 GVW, when you consider it's a short bed I-6.

MODEL code: F100 = F100 2WD, 5,000 lbs. GVW / F101 = F100 2WD, 4,200 lbs. GVW (common GVW with short bed I-6's).

GVW refers to the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating .. but trucks of this vintage do not have the R following the W.

Mr. Wilson what does it really matter, his DMV needs a number to put in a box on a form. That number is in range, and furthermore the nice person accepting the completed form could care less.

Some states base registration fees on older trucks by what the GVWR is. The lower the number, the cheaper the fees.

Good point Mr. Wilson, but I seriously doubt there is any difference in 5000 & 4200.

12000 yes.

You don't live in CA / At registration time, DMV adds expensive weight fees to registration fees.

2008: Pal a mine buys a 1976 F350, fails to notice expired tags, goes to register it. Late penalty weight and registration fees: $1833.00 .. I kid you not!

It still hasn't been registered, fees are now over 3 grand. Truck is a terd, isn't worth 500 bucks, cannot be driven or parked on public roads with expired tags.

And...he still still doesn't get it, just bought a 1997 Honda Civic with 3 yr old expired tags. Cost him 380 bucks to register it (shoulda cost no more than 75 bucks).

I told him after he bought the F350 that sellers are responsible for expired tags, but he forgot.

No sir I don't, I have heard horror stories about that state. It should be cut off and pushed into the Pacific, because many of it's bumbazz tree hugging regulations have reached across the nation.

Beautiful state, lots to do. Surf in the morning, drive 100 miles east, ski in the afternoon. CA was once conservative Republican before all the east coast liberal left wingers began moving here after WWII.

Battleship USS Iowa donated by the USN to San Francisco, "do-gooder" left wing pols nixed it.

Their loss, our gain. USS Iowa now located in Los Angeles harbor as a museum ship.

Too bad youse guys couldn't get the USS California before it was scrap. Also too bad you didn't get all the east coast liberal left wingers. They do well out there.
