Did Ford put china made door handles on new trucks in '96?
I've been having to roll my drivers side window down to open the door because of the dreaded....

So, me being a cheap *ss, I bought a used chrome metal one for under $5.00 shipped on E-bay. (my originals are black plastic)
Arrived today & the d*mn thing has "M china" cast right in it.
Ruined my whole day.
Should have never sold my Highboy. Pretty sure every original part on that truck was made here in the U.S.

I'm here, sorta.
We have a '95 at work with the dreaded interior handle issue. It's been so bad, the mounting surface of the door itself is torn loose at the handle mounting location. I had to weld/gusset it so that it would be firmly mounted. It all stems from pulling up too hard, likely from the latch being stiff(needs lubed) or the cable is stretched and not pulling far enough which leads you to pull up further/harder and breaking the handle.
My '89 works smooth and easy and never a problem. It has a very light touch and pops door open instantly.
The original Ford handles were not China make, only the cheap aftermarket versions. Don't recall what Ford gets for a new handle? Been 6mos since I replaced the one and it's still working fine.
That Torino looks hideous. What were they thinking? I wonder how long the front suspension will last with it sitting like that?? Friend bought a new '70 Torino formal roof, 351cleveland/4spd back in the day.
