I'm putting an 89 351w and it's 5 speed in my 67. Not going to use the factory EFI, too cluttered. I'm going to look at the aftermarket stuff from Holley, FAST, etc.

I'm going to be swapping the mirrors off of my 06, for a set of the power fold/ extends off of an 08+. I should see what those would look like on my 67.

Sounds like an awesome deal. But, should I do the mod motor swap I'll use as much factory stuff as possible from the junkyard. I took a tally of how much money it would take to buy what I need to get Rustoleum's parts from the junkyard if I did go mod motor. $950 ! But, there are some things I would have to get at NAPA. So, toss another $300 into budget. Plus, I don't have the proper tools (yet to pull the plow mount, engine, & put the proper size rear wheels back on her) to start that.

Yeah, I'd do the same with the mod motor, pricey for aftermarket stuff for those. That's a good price, though, for the swap!

While I'm doing the swap (if I went mod motor) I'll be putting a new bed on her, putting in a new steering column, new shocks (she is missing one) [NAPA], electric fan, electric fuel pump [NAPA], exhaust stacks (not included in the price along with the hydroboost brakes [because I oops'd]), Sterling 10.25 VSS limited slip 4.10 rear axle, mod motor (I put the price of the V10 down but the V8 is ~$50 less), wiring harnesses, & sensors. I'm sure there is more but I can't remember them off the top of my head (I have it written down though... )

Wonder how much heavier that V10 motor would be?

I'd say that their around 800 lbs. I'd say the V8's would be a couple hundred pounds lighter.

Yeah... I know. The problem that I foresee with the swap is will it fit ok & would the mod motor mounts work with my dentside with little to no modifications. But, before that all goes down I need to solve a few electrical problems & put the proper rear wheels on Rustoleum.

You'll probably have to make motor mounts, and maybe a tranny mount for it.

Somehow that is very likely. But, would the super duty parts work (not F150's) with the swap. I don't want to be fabbing up anything for this possible project (I don't have a welder).

Don't know. I don't know how the mounts are set up on those modulars. But, I would bet you're going to have to have something fabbed up for that. I'm going to have to have something done for my tranny mount. I'm going to have a frame shop do that, though. I'm not that good of a welder yet.

Question Brainstorm...

I think I would have to go to the local junkyard (with measuring tools, notepad, & writing utensils) & see if they have any 1999-2004 super duties sitting in the yard undamaged. That or go to the super duty forum & start asking questions there...

I'm looking at getting one of the possible three. But, it will likely be a 5.4 L . But, V10 would be my preferred choice.

You'd be able to get the mounting stuff for those two, anyway. I don't think they put any other motor (other than the diesel) in the Super Duty. Now, will it fit with the dentside is the big question.
