getting a new engine.....

I'm curious to know what I can sale off of my old engine and about how much you think i can get parting it out. #8 has broken rings, to my knowledge that's all that's wrong with it. 1997 f250 powerstroke.
Thanks in advance,
Matthew

If you're going to get a new long block you may end up needing all that stuff. Even if you don't I would suggest waiting until you get all the bugs worked out before getting rid of anything.

I too would wait to see what that "etc." ends up being. A lot of times the spare little odds and ends you save off these motors can save your butt.

Cali needs PCM programmed for split shot Injectors.
GPR is different, a few extra wires to PCM for current detection.

Why are you planning on replacing the injectors? They are bigger than the standard injectors. And i should clarify my statement, the fuel pump isnt a bad pump, its just that if the dampener fails its expensive to replace. Why ae you planning on replacing the fuel bowl?

If you take the injectors and all wiring from your old engine, you won't need to mess with the PCM.

Is one any better than the other?

Yeah the cali truck has bigger injectors. If you don't have upgraded injectors, the cali injectors would be a bit more fuel. IIRC they're 120cc sticks instead of 90cc like the rest of the OBS trucks.

Do I have to do anything to utilize the potential hp that the oversized injectors can make over standard?
