A big hello from Holland

Hello everybody.
My name is Ron, I live in The Netherlands and bought last week a Bronco.
It's a Eddie Bauer from 1980. It's my first american car but it feels like home.
Some pics.

I hope to learn and read here many things about the bronco, beacause he's maby old but new to me.
Greetz from Holland.

I hope this is the right topic to introduce myself.

Hi Ron, welcome aboard!

I don't think I have seen an early 80's EB Bronco before. I like it, looks great. The color combination, and the early 80's grill and headlights, go together very well.

Welcome to FTE. Very nice looking truck you have there. 1980-1986 body styling is my second favorite of all the Bronco/F-series.

You'll learn a lot here if you are motivated about it! I went from knowing nothing about vehicles to doing driveshafts/water pump/timing belt (not on my Bronco but the knowledge here translated) and much more.

The people here are awesome so it's a great place to learn!

That's an excellent Bronco by the way. That is also my second favorite style (second to the 92-96) Bronco. The paint looks like it's brand new!

Yo do learn a lot. I too knew nothing about broncos and very little about cars but after reading threads and answering posts and making them, you really do learn a lot.

Thanks for the welkom.
The paint is rather new but he has his spots of rust, which will be taken care of.
But first some other things needs attention, dash lights don't work.
I found a topic about it so I hope it's a easy fix.
Grtz Ron

Oke the lights are fixed, but they are weak even with the dimmer on full.
I guess they are old and I schould swap them for new ones, maybe some stronger ones. But first I try the same strength as is.

My dash lights were pretty dim for my tastes on full with the standard incandescent bulbs, I switch to LED bulbs and they are MUCH brighter. The only thing with LEDs are, sometimes they don't shine as evenly, so if you get poor quality ones, there may not be as even lighting on the dash as with the incandescent.

I really like the LED ones though because 1, they take less power and 2, they are much brighter. I also got blue ones to make my interior special!

However brand new incandescent bulbs would probably be a lot brighter if you have the original dash bulbs in your truck.

Well at least you guys have dash lights. Due to an issue with finding a fuse and an issue with the circuit board on the back of the cluster, i don't have any dash lights.

I changed the bulbs of the dash, the same as the original, and they are brighter than the old once. Not as bright as in my regular car but bright enough.
I installed a new radio with bleutooth for handsfree and navigation, but there were only 6 wire's for 4 speakers. So I put also new wire's in. Sound is good but I rather hear the V8.

If you'd rather heat the V8 it looks like it's time for you to get some exhaust then! Exhaust can be pretty expensive but it's well worth it in my opinion.
