Me and my mechanic have been kicking around the idea swapping out my current motor which is a 4.9 I6 with a Triton V10. we've done some prelim ionary and basic measurements and looks like the V10 would fit. Has anyone attempted this before?
I've never done this, but it sounds like a nightmare. Everthing from converting the truck's fuel system to handle fuel injection, to all the computer stuff you'll need to swap over. Plus, you'll need to find away to hook up your trans, or maybe a trans swap. To me it won't be worth the effort. Putting a carbureted big block in your truck would be so much easier.
We was thinking the same thing also and his wife had the idea of doing a body swap. It seems like more of a hassle and not worth it the more we toiled with it and wrote down all the planning. Dropping in a cummins seems to be more practicle haha. Thanks for responding
